NYE-Long Live PJ's

New Year's Eve 2015 is on the horizon and for a lot of people that means a party of some sort. Many women are out shopping for any thing that sparkles, heels, dresses, handbags and such. Personally, I am looking for cute and warm pajamas.

For the last few years I have been attending a new year's eve party at a friends house where the theme is pajamas. A friend has a family friendly event and guests come in pajamas. The variety of pj's that guests arrive in range from the standard plaid flannel to pajamas that light up and play music.

Pajamas come in so many styles, designs and numerous colors, these are not your grandmas pj's.
The goal is to be warm, but it is a plus if you are cute and stylish as well.

If you happen to be spending the evening home with your significant other then pop over to Hips and Curves and check out their awesome selection of lingerie.

Pantone 2016 Color Of The Year

Pantone has released their infamous color of the year forecast for 2016. It is not one but two colors, Rose Quartz and Serenity.

After the much hailed hoopla of past color announcements such as 2014's Radiant Orchid and 2015's Marsala I have to say I was rather nonplussed over Rose Quartz (pink) and Serenity (blue). But after viewing the soft pastel hues of these two colors I like them.

Overall, the colors are very gender neutral. They blend together with  just about any and everything in one's closet. Men, can easily wear a Serenity hued shirt and embrace a rose quartz tie to complete their outfit. The colors can be dressed up or down for the office, or for casual wear.
Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director for Pantone Color Institute had this statement to say about the colors chosen:

Rose Quartz and Serenity are already making their colorful way into products, makeup and furniture. In truth Rose Quartz and Serenity are colors that will go beyond 2016 as they are a timeless…

The DIA's annual FASH BASH brought all the sparkle and bling for a hot and humid August night.
The show with fashions from Neiman Marcus and styled by Ken Downing is a fund raising event for the DIA.

The fashions presented showed a bohemian mix of items. There was plenty of sparkling and glitter in jewelry, shoes and the clothes themselves. If anything the fashions showed it was mix and match and own your style whatever it may be.

I was the guest of my glitter-sis Mary Olesiak and her husband Peter.

I wore a black and white asymmetrical dress from Avenue. I chose black and stone encrusted gladiator sandals. I added red accessories for a pop of color.
Ran into this gorgeous lady Latrice from The Styling Closet looking very chic.

Fashions from the evening and a video of the final model walk through.
