Pantone is ushering in 2017 with a burst of color. Greenery is the hue upon which designers, fashionsitas and the like will build their wardrobe's, makeup and interiors around for the next 12 months.
Greenery is a eye catcher in my opinion. The color bursts open with freshness, unlike 2016's subtle hues of Rose Quartz and Serenity. With Greenery already appearing on runways and in makeup and even furniture I find that it echos Pantone's color from 2016 Green Flash. While Greenery is a bit more demure of a hue it gives a person a taste of spring no matter what the season.
Play with this color. Don't let it overwhelm you. Not sure what to pair greenery with? Maybe a denim skirt, or a black pencil skirt or really go for a pop of color and pair greenery with something along the lines of teal. So long as you are comfortable and feel great go for it.
The only thing predictable about Michigan weather is it changes so fast that one has to dress for all four seasons in one day.
However, we have had a mild winter, and while the calendar says spring, the weather has been as fickle as ever. Nevertheless, I can always count on finding pieces from my favorite resale store or re-purposing items from my closet to whip up a new outfit no matter what the weather.
The leopard outfit is from HIPS Resale at the Clawson store, 110 S. Main St. Clawson. The bag, and the shoes as well.
I have always wanted to try on a tutu skirt and HIPS now carries tutu skirts from Society+ I can say the skirt fits great. Plenty of room in the waist. I had on the sz. 26. I paired the skirt with flats and a metallic shirt, all from HIPS Clawson store. The one thing I can say about wearing this skirt is it's FUN!
Out and about running errands on a sunny day. Decorative t-shirt and wide leg cropped pants. I received lots of compliments on this look. It's f…
New Year's Eve 2015 is on the horizon and for a lot of people that means a party of some sort. Many women are out shopping for any thing that sparkles, heels, dresses, handbags and such. Personally, I am looking for cute and warm pajamas.
For the last few years I have been attending a new year's eve party at a friends house where the theme is pajamas. A friend has a family friendly event and guests come in pajamas. The variety of pj's that guests arrive in range from the standard plaid flannel to pajamas that light up and play music.
Pajamas come in so many styles, designs and numerous colors, these are not your grandmas pj's.
The goal is to be warm, but it is a plus if you are cute and stylish as well.
The weather has finally changed to cooler temps and I can start to layer items to go with the weather. I love the diversity of fall. I can wear a skirt and tights one day and then leggings and a shark tail tunic the next.
While I do have a number of black pieces in my closet I will often pair black items with something colorful like a sweater or a scarf to give my outfit a bit of definition with a pop of color.
The first outfit I paired a beige, and gray top with gray pants. Gray can be just as diverse as black. The top and pants are from Avenue. My great patent leather shoes are from Alegria.
The outfit below is a favorite that I just pulled together from HIPS resale boutique 114 Main St. Clawson, MI.
I bought the skirt specifically to wear tights and my Doc Marten boots. The sweater is from the Queen Latifah Collection, The skirt is Derek Lim and tshirt is from The Avenue. A fun bohemian look.
The love of purple, which is of course my favorite color. A very casual outfit for runni…
